PT User Conference in Anaheim

COHERE 2016We are gearing up for our COHERE PT User Conference on February 17, 2016 at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa in Anaheim. As always, our User Conferences provide training, a chance to discuss best practices with other Clinical Educators, and a forum to provide us with feedback on how we can make our products better. And since we’re pretty fun and you’re pretty fun, the conferences are usually, well, pretty fun (by conference standards, anyway).

Our most recent User Conference in Baltimore was a big success. We had a great discussion of the March 1st Mailing workflow. You’ll see the enhancements we’ve made as a result when you do your bulk mailing in 2016. We also received really useful feedback on reports that have resulted in new reports that we hope are already making your life easier. Finally, we gave First Come First Served slots a new, more appropriate icon: a ticking clock. It had been a thumbs up, an icon we all agreed did not represent how we felt about FCFS slots.

Here’s a sneak peak at the agenda for the Anaheim conference:

  • Session 1: Working with Student Information
  • Session 2: Working with Site Information
  • Session 3: The Placement Process
  • Session 4: The March 1st Mailing Process
  • Session 5: Working with Evaluations
  • Session 6: Working with Reports
  • Plus an Open Discussion Session and an Early Look at our new Curriculum Mapping product.

To join CEO Aarti Vaishnav, Kanthi Supriya, and Uday Vaishnav in Anaheim this February, email Jenn Thomas at today. There are only a few spots left!

Keep Calm and Eat Paella at PAEA in DC

The Exxat Team was in Washington, DC, last week for the 2015 PAEA Education Forum in Washington, DC. We hope you got to stop by our booth in the Exhibitor Hall and talk clinical placement software with CEO Aarti Vaishnav and Jenn Thomas.

We kept the party going after hours and hosted a client dinner Thursday night at Jaleo, a Spanish tapas restaurant by Jose Andreas. After all, what’s the point of having so many amazing clients if we don’t get to hang with them? (Okay, we guess keeping our business running and making a great product are also pretty nice perks.)

All of the food was delicious but the Fan Favorite Award came down to the Paella vs. the Flan (Flan Favorite?) Jenn also enjoyed the gin and tonic oyster shooters. If she can handle those, she should have no problem handling your customer service requests.

Want to hang out, eat yummy food, and chat with other Exxat users and the Exxat team, oyster shooter consumption not required? Meet us at CSM in Anaheim this February for a User Conference. More details coming soon!

ELC Baltimore: Hurricanes, Clients, and Top Chef!

The Exxat Team and over 700 Clinical Education professionals braved the threat of Hurricane Joaquin to attend ELC Baltimore in October. Exxat was honored to be the Platinum sponsor for the event.

Before ELC even started, current clients joined the Exxat team for the Cohere 2015 User Conference. CEO Aarti Vaishnav unveiled STEPS, version 2.0, the newest version of our clinical placement software. She highlighted new features and improvements and answered questions about the launch at the end of October. Users were particularly excited about new Site Groups and CAPTE reporting support. The Exxat team was excited to hear user feedback and to see users share their best practices with each other.

Once ELC was underway, our team had the opportunity to meet with the participants and attend sessions. So many clinical educators stopped by to talk about Exxat and how our system can support the placement process, eat some candy, and toss their cards into our gift basket raffle. Congratulations to our winner, Catherine Freeman from Franklin Pierce University. We hope you enjoyed the Toblerone!

We ended the conference by hosting a client appreciation dinner at Aggio, the restaurant of Top Chef Finalist Bryan Voltaggio. We have the best clients around and we wanted to thank them with good food and good company. Of course, no evening is complete without clients Janet Konecne of Western University of Health Sciences and Megan Freeland of LIU singing the Greek alphabet.

Thanks to all of you for making ELC 2015 a year to remember. See you next year!

Exxat is hosting our inaugural Physician Assistant Users Group Conference in Napa, CA June 29th and 30th! This year Exxat is welcoming our PA programs to the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel and Spa to join us for two days of discussions on how to use the STEPS system most efficiently and provide a forum for PA programs to discuss common ideas and objectives. Plus enjoy some delicious food and wine!

If you are interested in setting up a meeting during the conference with a EXXAT team member to learn more about STEPS, email or call +1-(323) 999-1559.

We at Exxat are excited to announce our inaugural user conference for our Physical Therapy Users on September 30th – October 1st 2015 in Baltimore, MD. This year, Exxat has been very busy adding new clients and training their staff in using STEPS. We now have over 25 PT and PTA clients using Exxat’s STEPS product. In our meetings with different schools, we have discovered that while every program is unique, many of the processes followed by our clients are very similar and programs could benefit by sharing experiences.Exxat would like to provide a platform for collaboration between all our clients.

To help facilitate this exchange of ideas and enhance STEPS, we are having our first Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant Users conference right before ELC 2015 (in the same hotel).

PAEA 2014

Aarti and Jenn have just returned from Philadelphia, PA at the PAEA Educational Forum and it was a blast! While there, we had so much fun handing out popcorn and chocolates to everyone and listening to Educators about what is important to you. We are spreading the word about STEPS being a better way to plan your clinical rotations than the legions of sticky notes or software that you must conform to. Congratulations to our chocolate gift basket raffle winner Kathy Tuinhoff of Western Michigan University! We hope everyone had a great conference and look forward to meeting even more of you next year.

ELC 2014 in Kansas City

Aarti Vaishnav and Nena Becerra are at ELC 2014 in Kansas City, MO and having a great time meeting Physical Therapy Educators. In Friday’s Plenary Session with Dr. Lynn Marie Gangone, Dean, Colorado Women’s College, University of Denver the topic of discussion was the changes ahead in higher education, “no university survive by being static” she exhorted to the assembled guests. Some of the biggest expected challenges in the coming years are, educational price increases, demographic shifts in student populations, a shift in focus to getting a “Good Enough” degree, and increased competition, making an efficient management of your students’ rotations and documentation even more important.
